HESSCO Elder Services will be offering SafeTALK, a half-day alertness training that prepares anyone to become a suicide-alert helper. Over the course of their training, SafeTALK participants will learn to:
Notice and respond to situations where suicidal thoughts might be present
Recognize that invitations for help are often overlooked
Move beyond the common tendency to miss, dismiss, and avoid suicide
Apply the TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, and Keep
Safe HESSCO is providing this free training to direct care workers serving elders in the region. View flyer. Please register by September 14, 2018 to Ann Rudy at ARudy@HESSCO.org. Include in your email the full name of all attendees and agency contact information.
